Alpha Protocol will be a new entry in the genre of action role-playing game. Developed by a California based company Obsidian Entertainment and published by SEGA. The main theme of the game is about the adventures of a rookie CIA field agent Michael Thorton. The character of Michael Thorton is said to be inspired from Jason Bourne. Jason Bourne is a leading character of famous movie and novel series of Bourne.

Michael Thorton is a talented field agent for CIA; everything is going right in his carrier and then something goes wrong. Michael Thorton knows something that is the only way to stop an international disaster. When something distorted happens, Michael Thorton is cut off from his contacts. His superiors betray him and turn him into a fugitive, who is hunted by United States Government. Working on his own decisions on each mission Michael Thorton transforms himself into a professional field agent. As a player, the decisions taken by you will decide the future of Michael Thorton and the future of the world.

Alpha Protocol offers you a third person shooter view, so you can Thorton and the surroundings. Just like Splinter cell, Michael Thorton can use various tools including Spy gadgets firearms, and hand-to-hand combat by an American style of fighting. As you advance through the game, you are given a chance to gain ten different skills. This can be done by earning advancement points. Once you gain ability, you can use it but it for a limited time, after that it require cooldown. One of the ability from ten abilities in the game, allows the player to observe the group of enemies before evolving from the crowd to shoot them more rapidly than normal and slow down the enemy. It is just like the famous Bullet Time action of Max Payne series. You can choose your skills, allowing you to strengthen your playing skills. Like you can either improve gunplay, hand-to-hand combat or you can increase your stealth.

Best feature of the game is you can chat with various characters of the game. The talking options are based on the three JB’s” as Jason Bourne of Bourne series, James bond of bond series and Jack Bauer of the television series 24. The talking feature seems much more improved than the other games. When talking to a character you can choose your talking style as smooth (James Bond), professional (Jason Bourne), and aggressive (Jack Bauer). The Non playing Character will act differently according to your way of talking.

To save your game there are safe houses in the various cities of the game as Alpha Protocol works on hub system. In order to lay low through the missions Thorton must use these safe houses. Thorton can access weapon locker, telephone contacts, attempt missions, and can change cloths. Adding to that you can also sell and buy weapons from your safe houses. Main safe houses are Moscow, Rome, Saudi Arabia and Taipei.
