Arc Rise Fantasia
imageepoch is going out of handheld consoles to main course consoles. After the success of the games like Luminous Arc 1 and Luminous Arc 2 for Nintendo DS, they are planning a game for Wii, Arc Rise Fantasia. It will be a fantasy role-playing game and will be published by Marvelous Entertainment. imageepoch announced Arc Rise Fantasia in for release in Japan and North America in 2009.
The game was previously known as Project Ray. The game is under development from September 4, 2007. Hiroyuki Kanemaru is the director of the game. He earlier worked for Telnet Japan and then moved to Namco Tales Studio. At Namco he worked as level concept designer and script director for Tales of Symphonia. In an interview Kanemaru stated that Arc Rise Fantasia or Project Ray is influenced by old-school RPGs from systems such as the PC-Engine/TurboGrafx-16. Project Ray was also shown to exist with Project Salamander Project S. It was known as World of Destruction for the Nintendo DS. Popular Japanese magazine Famitsu was the first one to reveal the game on June 25, 2008. Following day the article featured on Internet. The Japanese release date of June 4, 2009 was announced on March 6th 2008.
Arc Rise Fantasia is set in Meridian Empire. A lot of problem is cause by the creatures called “Contaminant Dragons” while passing Meridian in flocks. If any of the Dragon is killed, the resulting explosion poisons the whole area. When the empire receives a word that that a massive horde has its sight on the capital of Diamant. It immediately sends army to fight them. The army also includes L’Arc a cool and collected mercenary, and his friend Arth or Alphonse, the prince of the capitol and second in line for throne. L’Arc is severally injured in the battle and saved by a girl named Ryfia. Her past is unknown and she possesses the power of controlling Ley Squalls, natural-occurring storms of magic that usually take the form of luminous rain. A lady named Adelle, who’s been friend to L’Arc since childhood, renders assistance to pay the party through use of her unique form magic, Luminomancy.
The game is turn based RPG. There are three-character parties, with single AP gauge shared by the team. It empties as various actions are performed. Multiple attacks are also possible as well as massive attacks that will drain a lot of AP. Those skills will increase which are used by the same players. Summons beast called “Roguresu” are also included in the game.
