BattleForge is an upcoming game developed by EA Phenomic. Gaming giants Electronic Arts will publish the game. BattleForge is real-time strategy game. Release dates are not revealed by the developers but it may release in 2009. According to the developers BattleForge will only be released for Microsoft Windows in 2009. BattleForge is not like other typical RTS games. Main focus of the game is buying, trading, and winning through means of micro-transactions. However, micro-transactions are not required for playing the game, only for buying new cards.

The developers are promising an experience of real-time strategy in a whole new dimension. Every battle is different from others, and every army is unique and differs from other armies of the game. You are given a chance to create your own from mighty creatures and powerful soldiers. Lead your army in epic online battles-with your friends or against them. You have options to go for single player missions or in a team with up to twelve participants. There us PvE (player versus environment) mode and PvP (player versus player) mode. In PvE mode players have to fight alone in missions. Some of the missions are only played by 1 player, while some of them can be played with 2, 4 or 12 players.

There are two hundred cards in total. They are equally divided among the powers. Developers are promising more cards after the release of the game. Theses cards are like tools of war. They represent spells, units and buildings that can be used directly in the battlefield. You have to assemble the perfect fighting force before the battle, from ever-increasing collection and lead into battle. Cards which are rare open completely new tactics for you. These rare cards are of high value for swapping at the in game market place. Four main powers that balance in the world of BattleForge. These four powers are Fire Aggressive, Frost Defensive, Shadow Risk, and Nature Control. These powers have their own special abilities, strength and weakness. These powers provide powerful array of spells, powerful units, and magical units for your strategy. You can surprise your opponents by using perfectly armed fighting force for every battle.

BattleForge offers three modes for each mission: standard, advanced, and expert. If you want to play the expert mode you have to complete the standard mode first. If you win the battle there are rewards of gold, card upgrades and PvE experience points. These experience points can be use for achieving higher rank in PvE level. For the PvP battles players can choose either ranked PvP or unranked PvP. Ranked PvP will give players ELO points, gold, and token as reward. ELO points can give players a higher PvP level. Gold and Token can be traded for card upgrades. Main objective of the players is to defend legends in PvE and add them to your card collection or fight other players in PvP and improve your rankings and win unique prizes.

Developers stated that world of BattleForge never sleeps, new players and challenges are always there in the community. New cards will be released on regular intervals, with new tactical possibilities. Exciting and new campaigns fill the world of BattleForge and will keep enriching its history over the time.
