Damnation is an upcoming sci-fi shooter game, currently under development of Blue Omega Entertainment. It will be published by oldest game maker of United Kingdom Codemasters. Scheduled released date for the game is 26th May 2009. It will be launched for all the three major gaming platforms of current generation- PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3.

It is believed that Damnation is based around the interpretation of rugged and gritty Steampunk. According to the developers, it will be a unique first person shooter, as it will feature some modern advancement like frenetic combat huge open environments, daredevil acrobatics, and high-octane vehicle-based stunts. This game is termed as “shooter gone vertical” by many gaming media magazines, and is said to be inspired by iconic elements of American history.

Set in the early part of the twentieth century after the American Civil War has spanned over the several decades and the electricity is replaced by steam. Protagonist of the game has to fight a rich Industrialist. The motive of the Industrialist is to get away with both the Union and Confederate armies in one single movement. As few of the freedom fighters forms a group. Now the motive of the mission is to protect a Steampunk-cultured, War-torn, industrialized America from a dictator.

Originally, the game started as an Unreal Tournament 2004 mod. It also entered into Epic Games first Make Something Unreal contest. It secured the second position for best total Conversation game modification. The retail version is said to retain most of its gameplay, acrobatic moves and spirit vision. A demo was scheduled to be released on the both of the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace in early January 2009 but has yet to surface.
