Dues Ex 3 is an upcoming game for the genre of role-playing game. It will be the third game of the famous series Deus Ex 3. It will also be a prequel to the award wining game Deus Ex, action/thriller video game.

It was announced as early on May 17, 2007. Director of Eidos France Patrick Melchior announced the game on an interview with MusiquePlus. Main creative directors of the previous two game Warren Spector and Harvey Smith are not attached to the game. According to the Eidos, they received huge mandate to develop Dues Ex 3. New studio philosophy, which focuses on smaller teams with multi-discipline employees. The studio is hoping to see the release of the game around middle of 2009. A tease trailer was released on November 26, 2007.

Like the previous games of the franchise, weapons can be upgraded. However, up gradation is limited to only four levels. Upgrades for each weapon will be unique. The unified ammo approach from Deus Ex: Invisible War will be eschewed in favour of diversified ammo types for each weapon, like in the original game. In Deus Ex games, augmentations are mostly body modifications. They allow user almost superhuman or advanced abilities. Deus Ex 3 will include mechanical augmentations, the other two games of the franchise used nanotechnology-enhanced augmentations. Every squad will have an identifiable squad leader that will direct the team’s actions. If the leader of a team is killed then into, disarray and thus making players work easier. Enemies will react to even small decisions of player like change of weapons or behavior.

Game starts in the year 2027 about 25 years earlier of the original Deus Ex. The main character of the game Adam Jensen is a private security officer with a company that specializes in these augmentations. He witnesses a chilling attack on his company, and the conspiracy begins. Nanotechnological augmentations have yet to be developed and biomechanical augmentations are the current state of the art. For the base five metropolises are selected and Montreal, Detroit, and Shanghai are confirmed. The main protagonist of the game will have its own apartment, where he can store his secrets and collected information. Women are given an important part in the game.
