Based on one of the oldest and biggest Japanese anime series Gundam series is one of the best games in the genre of Action role playing game and hack & slash. Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 is the new game in the series, it’s a tactical action video game. The game is a direct sequel to the 2007’s Dynasty Warriors: Gundam. Koei/Omega is the developer for the game and it is published by Namco Bandai. It was released on April 21, 2009 and on April 24, 2009 for Unites States of America and Europe respectively on the platforms of Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows. There are two modes in the game as 1-2 players.

Style of the previous Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warrior is followed by Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2. Gameplay of Gundam 2 will be action-oriented hack and slash with some tactical elements. Dynasty Warriors: Gundam games are different from the other Dynasty Warrior games because they will have unique gameplay mechanics and twists. Biggest of them is that characters and the story of the game are not created from the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms and rather it is created from various Mobile Suit Gundam anime series. On more change is independence given to the players to use any combination of man and machine. Players can choose pilots and mecha independently. This time players are given more range of combats options than in any other Dynasty Warrior games. Main focus of the game is however unchanged and it will be melee attack using more combat actions. Units of the game more mobile and they can jump in mid-air, fly and dash all using its thrusters.

Some of the game bosses are from colossal mobile armors. The enemy AI is improved it will keep the best players on their toes. The player will now attack simultaneously and perform aerial drills. Intermission and briefing of the game will now be performed in 2-D illustrations with many outfits for the characters. In Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 mobile suits such as Hambrabi and Guncannon will feature as playable characters. Previously they were non-playable characters. The option of Japanese audio on the North American version is removed from the game is removed.

The official mode of the game will feature 4 playable characters. This mode is set in the continuity of the Universal Century timeline and will cover the stories of Zeta Gundam, Char’s Counterattack. However these modes will be different from the main story. In an all new mission mode characters will be given specific missions to complete, like acquiring mobile suits parts, and defeating or reinforcing other characters in order to go for friendship or developing rivalries. To use other units players must have to complete the License Missions. Last mode is Gallery Mode, named as gallery or library mode in Japanese version. It will include detailing mobile suit and battleship information character biographies, movie clips and musical tracks from the various Gundam series themes, but only in the Japanese version.
