Earthrise is a science fiction based massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). It is based on post-apocalyptic settings. Officially, it was announced on January 23, 2008. the development is under Bulgarian based team, Masthead Studios. They are planning to release the game before second half of 2009. The basic settings of the game are based on the clash between two factions. One is the corporate government, which control most of the country and every possible aspect of its citizen’s lives. The other is rebel group sworn to oppose government orders. The new features includes a skill-based system, a player driven economy and a modified PvP.  It will be released only on Windows.

Earthrise takes place on the island of Enterra, where the surviving population has built a new society. There new society is based in a City called Sal Vitas. Rulers of the City is a totalitarian government called Continoma that rewards who abide by its strict laws. Once the government of Sal Vitas has full control of the cloning processes it’s their decision who will live and who will not. Some armed forces accuse the city rulers as criminal against humanity. Armed forces fought against government for resources and power within the system. The rebellion forces ferments and creates a shadow government Noir.

The number 100 indicates total skills of the player. Other than combat oriented skills, game elements are- abilities, skills, and tactics. They are closely related to each other. These game elements will help in numerous character customizations. Main element behind customization is Tactics. The battle system of Earthrise is traditionally RPG system, where avatar skills and equipment are important. The combats are however dynamic and resembles a first person or third person shooter game. The game requires a certain level of skills in targeting and movement, which is quite popular in current wave of MMOs.

Players will have the opportunity to kill other members. You can also kill players from your own faction, but it is considered as one of the worst crime in both Continoma and Noir. To clear the damming effects of such crime is very difficult but not impossible. In the Continoma SVS, each guard will behave differently to the criminal players. Player who had killed another player will be able to loot his possessions. There are some areas in the game where guards will attack everyone who tries to attack other players. People who don’t want to engage in PvP will feel secure in these areas. Most dangerous zones of the game will feature free for all PvP.
