Harry Potter is definitely the most famous character of modern times in books, movies and now in games. After success of previous games of Harry Potter series, which are based on movies of same name, EA is ready with newest games of the series Harry Potter and the Half Blooded Prince. The game is developed by EA’s own Bright Light Studio & published by Electronic Arts. Its release dates are scheduled to coincide with film’s new dates of release. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince will be released on every known gaming platform on earth, starting from PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Mac OS X, Wii, and Mobile platforms.

Harry Potter will have difference in features in accordance with the platforms it will be launched. For example the Nintendo DS version will include mini-games such as Exploding Snap and Gobstones. The game will utilize the Quidditch, Stylus for wizard duels, and potion making. The PlayStation 3 version will utilize one of its most prominent feature the Dualshock 3. The Wii version will use Wii’s wireless Wii remotes. The same as used in The Order of Phoenix. The Quidditch, potion making and wizard dueling are included. However, new Wii Motion Plus technology will release in spring 2009, so support is yet to be confirmed. Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, and the PC version will include the same old function of the previous game.

Harry Potter games should include special features and the story has to be presented in such a manner that the players should feel it other way. This is because most of the players or kids or anybody in the world is well aware of the story of Harry Potter franchise. Main plot of the game is about Harry Potter’s defense against dark forces of Voldermort. Dumbledore prepares Harry Potter for the finale battle. They have to find the way to stop from griping the Muggle and Wizard worlds, and stop him. Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague Professor Horace Slughorn. Dumbledore believes he is unsuspected and holds crucial information.

Half-Blood Prince will feature exploration of great Hogwarts, and casting spells on the objects around the school, just like the previous game of the franchise Order of the Phoenix. This time an option of multiplayer is also included to give it a vast network to play, along with online play. Its main features will be showing different time of the day, playing Quidditch, Wizard duels Stylus, attending classes, and Potion making. Other than Hogwarts Astronomy Tower, The Horcrux Cave and The Burrow are also included in the game. These locations will play an important part in finishing the game. With older Charms and Spells some new Charms and Spells also included in the game like Stupefy, Levicorpus, Petrificus, Expelliarmus are the few Spells. Charms are the older ones and are on every fans tongue, like Glacious and the most famous of them Wingardium Leviosa.

Some new characters are included in the game in accordance with the novel’s characters. However, which characters are included from the novel is still not revealed. Most of the characters are voiced by the original characters of the movie series. Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) and Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) will contribute their voices to the game for their characters.

Original date of the game was announced in April, 2008. Date of the release of the game have to be coinciding with release date of the movie of the same name. However due to some reason’s the movie as rescheduled to release around mid of year 2009, after a months time the game was also rescheduled to release with the movie in mid 2009.
