Who can forget Mass Effect, this action-role playing game proved a critical as well as commercially. A sequel to Mass Effect named as Mass Effect 2 is under development of BioWare Games and they are assisted by EA Montreal. Mass Effect 2 will be published by Electronic Arts. Microsoft Game Studio is not associating Electronic Arts. The game will be released somewhere between January and March 2010 on Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360. The game will make use of Unreal Engine 3. Genre for the game will be Action Role Playing Game, and it will release only in single player mode. The game is written by Drew Karpyshyn, famous for Baldur’s Gate series and the previous title Mass Effect. According to the developers characters are more detailed then the previous title. They are detailed graphically as well as technically. For Example in the previous game Mass Effect there were 20 animation Shepard, whereas in Mass Effect 2 its 200. The game is more open ended. Uncharted worlds which can only be used for “Cheap thrills” will now be more detailed. Camera positioning is changed, previously it was seen while talking with some AI camera is fixed in a static mode, this time it will be moving. Camera view will provide the game a cinematic touch.

The game will be darker then the previous one. BioWare announced that “Saren’s evil army of Geth soldiers has just been defeated, and humans, who are still struggling to make their mark on the galactic stage, are now faced with an even greater peril.” The plot of the game is further elaborated by Online retailer listings. According to them second chapter of the trilogy will take you to the darkest reaches of the space, and you will have to uncover the mystery behind disappearance of humans. Some aspects of the game were put on display by BioWare Executive Producer Casey Hudson. On Shepard’s death he explained that he may die in multiple endings of the game. Endings of the game will not be surprising and they will not be random. The game can end with Shepard’s death and whole of the team survives, everyone is killed along with Shepard.

Team that worked on Mass Effect will continue working on Mass Effect 2. CEO of EA John Riccitello confirmed that Mass Effect will release on multiple platforms and will be released in the fourth quarter of 2009, i.e. between January and March 2010. BioWare and Electronic Arts announced on March 2, 2009 that they have set up a new team set to work in Montreal using existing EA Montreal facility. Main task of the team is to develop Mass Effect. First full time trailer was released on May 29, 2009. Nothing new was shown in the trailer but, the design for Normandy was changed slightly and new serrated blades to the nose of the ship were seen. Most probable reason for placing the blades is to fix the mistake they done in the first game where they forgot to place weapons. One more thing is confirmed was that Shepard, previously thought to be dead is still alive, at least in the starting of the game.
