Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned
One of the most successful movie series of all time Pirates of the Caribbean is coming to the gaming world. Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned is an action role-playing game. The game is under development of Propaganda Games. Disney Interactive Studio will publish the game, just like the movie series. The game will be released for the Platforms of PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows, under the genre of RPG (Role-playing game), Action and Adventure. Release dates are not confirmed, the only hint from the developers is around Q4 of 2010. Single player will be the only mode of the game announced so far. Game Engine used in the game is Unreal Engine 3. Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned takes place in the open environment of the Caribbean, and the player assumes the role of a new pirate. Playing as the new pirate you have to travel around the world to build some reputation in the world of pirates.
Character assumed by the player will be predetermined about personality & appearance. Character will be shaped by the player’s actions. The choices and decisions will change the personality and appearance of the character. Main focus of the game will be how your character is seen the world. This will allow some players to be more feared and some will be more respected. Exploration of the game will take place on both land and sea. Instead of turned based combat it will be real time in the game, and will allow to customize your weapons. There will be a unique feature in the game of change of main plot. Open world will be filled with AI and the plot will change according to the way of interaction of players. Player’s can alliance with other nations based on the paths they chose. Designer of the game Alex Peters when asked about the different combats in the game, he told about the swords combat and the attacks you can do with a sword. However, about the ship battle he answered, as “Without giving away anything at this early stage, our approach is vastly different than any other game”.
Nothing is reveled about the plot of the game. Only known thing about the game is that it takes place in the Universe of the movie. It takes place before the movie and has got nothing to do with the movie series. Game based on the Pirates of the Caribbean series are always exciting and expectations are high this time too. Only concern about the game is time it will take long till the game will be released for the players.
