Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim an upcoming real-time strategy game is under the development of 1C:Ino-Co, one of the largest software developers of Russia. The game will be published by Paradox Interactive, one of the largest publishers in the world. First announcement for the game was made on April 18, 2008. Release dates are not confirmed but you may see the game releasing in third or fourth quarter of the year 2009.The game will be a direct sequel to Cyberlore’s Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim. According to Paradox they are reinventing and updating many aspect of the game. However the humor and charm of the original Majesty will remain. Majesty 2 makes several changes to the typical fantastic settings and the RTS formula just like its predecessor did. Majesty 2 is real-time strategy game set in high fantasy world with some medieval feel. Player server the traditional responsibility of directing the affairs for his own empire. Players will be styled as “the sovereign.” Individual units on the other hand are semi-autonomous. Each player will be independent with his or her own inventory and statistics, crossing over into the genre of role-playing. Sovereign can attract these units with several types’ flags and controlling their general movements not directly but indirectly. Other than attracting units sovereigns can do many other works like recruiting heroes, establishment of buildings, for funding the improvements he can also collect gold. Now the main focus of the game are the Heroes of Ardania. Reason is straight they fight enemies and drive the economy. You can recruit heroes at their own guilds. These heroes will have many classes and abilities, ranging from armored Paladin to arcane Mage. For a better cooperative gameplay heroes can be formed in groups. Skill of these groups will vary depending on the composition of heroes. Worthy heroes can be promoted to Lords at the completion of each mission. It will allow them to be called upon in later quests. Lower heroes can be promoted to the higher ranks. Further opening new possibilities for the development. The game will be based in the city of Ardania a magical fantasy realm. Population of Ardania will be shared between Elves, Humans and Dwarves and few less desirable monsters.

Story of the game starts and over 500 hundred years have passed since the unification of the realm of Ardania. Many kings ruled between this time and foes of the older one were beaten. King Leonard was born in this world, he soon grow worried about his place in history because there were no great enemies left to be defeated. The weight of the royal ancestry made him to call upon the most powerful demon in order to defeat him. Every thing went wrong and kings attempt to acquire a name for him failed because the demon killed the king and seize his throne. In the demons rule Ardania collapsed into the disordered past. A very long time after Ardania has found their true ruler to the throne.

Although Majesty 2 shares many key hallmarks and features with Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim, still there are many differences that have been introduced to both story and the gameplay. Features which are remained unchanged from the previous game are magic, rewards and buildings. Most significant visible change is the shift from 2D to 3D environment. Some of the buildings will have maximum number cap or can be built only at specific places. These will include buildings like Marketplace, Trade post and Temple. Another announced change to the gameplay is the class system. There will be now more diverse classes and higher tired classes. Cleric will serve as the base class and will carry out works like healing and offensive use of magic, they can be either upgraded to Dark Priestess of Krypta or Light Priestess of Argela. Paradox wants to work minutely on the character detail. As a result every character will look different very time, let it be a hero, monster or an object. Majesty 2 takes place 500 hundred years after the original Majesty. Many gods and monsters have disappeared in between and many new enemies have appeared.
