World War II is one of the most adapted topic in gaming world, many games released under the genre and made history. Games released on the backdrop of World War II are mostly released in two perspectives either First person shooter (FPS) or RTS (Real time strategy). Order of War is an upcoming game in World War II strategy category. The game is developed by Wargaming.net and it will be published by  Square Enix. Square Enix is the largest console role playing game publishers in the world, with some of the best games of gaming world like the longest running game series Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest series and Kingdom Hearts series. Order of War is composed by Jeremy Soule famous for his contribution in games like Warhammer 40,000: Dawn  of War, Harry Potter series and Guild War series. Order of War will be released for Microsoft Windows with single player and online supported multiplayer mode. Releasing dates are not confirmed but it may release in the end of this year.

The game starts in the summer of 1944 Second World War is towards its end, with allies launching two final attacks on German forces on Eastern and Western Fronts at once. Order of War features high detailed graphics and an accurate historic storyline. The game’s main feature is the large scale battles played in a totally unique and appealing style. This style creates extraordinary cinematic experience. Role given to the player is a commander of entire army which includes artillery, ground troops, tank divisions and air crafts. All these war elements will be used as strategic assaults in all the key missions and operations of World War II. Order of War will give you a chance to be part of one of the America’s finest victory in west. Also it will give you a chance to play as German army commander facing unstoppable Red Army. Total soldiers in your command will be 1000 with various armored vehicles and tanks. There will be two different campaign modes each with different storyline, objectives, environment and missions. Get ready to play as a commander and change the history. Remember making history is one thing and changing it is quite another thing.

Square Enix is known for its RPG (role-playing game) like Kingdom of Heart, Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy. Now a third person shooter is under their belt, the game is named The 3rd Birthday. Both Square Enix and Sony want their products to go more global then they now are. The 3rd Birthday will be the third part in the famous Parasite Eve series. Last game of the series Parasite Eve was released nine years back in 2000. to create the suspense very few information is released under the section of plot. The 3rd Birthday is a spin-off from the Parasite Eve series, that’s why the title Parasite Eve is not included in the title. The game will see the return of Aya Brea main protagonist the previous games. Design of the game is changed significantly from the predecessors. But as it is number three in the series and have “3” in the name, fans are referring it by the name of “Parasite Eve 3”. The game will release on Sony’s PlayStation Portable. Releasing dates are yet to be confirmed by the developers.

What ever is revealed by the developers, plot of the game revolves around Aya. Late on the Christmas Eve, Aya and few other members of CTI are called into the headquarter. Reason is an outbreak of attacks in Manhattan. Creatures named as Twisted are behind these attacks. These characters suddenly emerge from mysterious time contortion. Any details about the time contortion and creatures will be revealed later. Just like the other games of the series main focus of the game will be Aya. Although her age is some where in the middle thirties, but due to her powers she still looks like a twenty years old. Reason to keep Aya in her twenties was given by the Motomu Toriyama, Chief scenario Director as it will be hard to focus on a woman in her mid thirties and playing a role of a cool and independent woman. The game was announced in 2007 in Japan. A teaser released shows Aya in wedding dress, however nothing is explained about it.

Initially the game was announced only to be released on mobile phones, but later in an private fan event, it was announced for PSP. A trailer was shown at Tokyo Game Show. It shows events of Parasite Eve and Parasite Eve 2 and then switching to the events of 3rd Birthday. The teaser starts with Aya in a street and snow is falling, a time cortex slowly opens near her. Continuing it shows a guy offering his hand to Aya, the guy is believed to be Kyle Madigan returning from Parasite II. an unknown creature emerges from the cortex and attacks Aya. The teaser ends with the logo of The 3rd Birthday and confirming that the game is exclusively developed for PSP. Another trailer shows Aya in a church. A mysterious figure is standing at the end of the church when she approaches the figure, he opens fire on Aya. According to the gaming magazine Famitsu The 3rd Birthday should be at Tokyo Game Show 2009.

Resonance of Fate is another console role playing game in the, the genre that has gave us games like Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy and Pokémon. In Japanese the game is known as End of Eternity. It is developed by Tri-ace and will be published Sega. The platforms it will be released are PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Developers are not considering Wii, a much famous console because there are already many role playing games released for Wii. It will be released under the genre of Sci-Fi/Fantasy RPG. Resonance of Fate will be released somewhere in Q4. The developers Tri-ace stated that the game is completed by 65%.

The game starts in distant future; Earth is suffering drastic Environmental changes. Why nobody knows, reasons are unknown. A poisonous layer pervaded the land and this leads to taking mankind on the Edge of extinction since they are not able to adapt to the new changes. To survive remaining humans built a gigantic device called Basel, its cleans the surrounding air and thus the environment. Civilizations starts to build around Basel, with building a city around the Basel. High class lives on the apartments built on the top of the Basel and lower class is living in the districts build around the base. Everything goes well for many years until one day, when humans discovers that the Basel is not working right.

There will be three main characters in the game as:

Zephyr – he is 17 years old and serves as the main protagonist of the game. He is an orphan and rose in childcare facilities. His outlook for the world is tough, as he believes there is no God. He meets Vashyron in his late teens, while working for a Private Military Firm (PMC), beginning his life as a mercenary soldier. In the release screenshots of the game he seen carrying two sub-machine guns.

Vashyron – 26 years old man, he served for the army and later opened his own PMC for living. He meets Zephyr on an mission of suppressing teenage rioters, and inviting him to join his company. He is a survivor during his military days, as all of his squad members were killed. It looks like he prefers handguns.

Subject 20 – A 19 years old girl who is born and raised in research facility. The name 20 is given to her because of the experiments on her. Her body is biologically programmed to expire on her 20^th birthday. After knowing this she escapes the facility, intending to defy her inevitable fate.

The promotion for the game is started on April 1^st 2009. Tri-ace released a teaser with countdown timer leading to the next week. Resonance of Fate was slated to consoles of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as a new RPG. Before any news release further by Tri-ace it was revealed on Famitsu that the game will be named as End of Eternity in Japanese. For the first time Tri-ace and Sega are coning together for a game. Takayuki Suguro will be the direct the game. he previously worked for Tri-ace on projects like Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story, and Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria. Not to create a confusion with the Isaac Asimov’s science fiction novel of the same name games title was changed.

Kingdom Heart Birth by Sleep is an upcoming game by SquareEnix. SquareEnix is famous for Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy titles, and is often known by the name of these two games. They are so busy with these two titles that they hardly get time for other games. Now they came up with a new title, so it would be refreshing to see new title from SquareEnix. Kingdom Hearst Birth by Sleep will be an action role-playing game. It will be a prequel to first Kingdom Heart game, taking place ten years before and it features many unexplained elements of the game. Available only on PlayStation Portable it will release in Summer 2009 in Japan. Releasing dates for other territories are still to be announced.

Kingdom Heart Birth by Sleep is a single-player action role-playing game and focuses on melee style fighting. Gameplay is similar to the previous titles of the franchise. Kingdom Heart Birth by Sleep is divided in three scenarios and each scenario will feature different gameplay based on the three main characters: Terra, Ventus, and Aqua. Players can play any of the three scenarios and can stop mid-way through one scenario to begin another. There are several new features included in the game, one such feature is “Focus”, and it’s a first person-targeting mode. Focus mode is based on the story of Ventus and each character will have a special attack mode that allows them to perform different magic-based attacks. The enemies of the game are “Unbirths”; they are new to the series but are connected to the Heartless and Nobodies enemies of the earlier game.

Kingdom Heart Birth by Sleep starts 10 years earlier of the first Kingdom Heart game. Main focus of the game is on the story of three apprentices that wield keyblades before the series’ main protagonist Sora. Kingdom Heart Birth by Sleep is not centered on a single scenario it features, but the Ven’s identity is one of the main theme. The story revolves around three keyblades and apprentices and their missing Keyblade master. The main antagonist is Maleficent. There are numerous characters of Disney in the game, just like the previous titles. In addition to original characters of Terra, Ventus, and Aqua there are few more characters including King Mickey, Donald Duck, and many more.

A playable demo of the game was released on 10^th October 2008. The demo was well received by all the game critics’ sites and magazines. IGN expressed their excitement for the release of game in 2009. Metacritic stated that they can’t wait for the game. There are few complaints though those are registered about the Ventus demo.
