Square Enix and Final Fantasy don’t need introduction, one of the top game franchise and game developers releases new game in the series. The title is named Dissidia: Final Fantasy an just like previous games of the series it is released under the genre of RPG (Role Playing Game), but what makes it different is Fighting game mixed with RPG. Dissidia Final Fantasy is dedicated to PSP (PlayStation Portable) as a part of 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy. The game was announced back in May 2007. The game will be unique as it will feature characters from various Final Fantasy games. The game is centered around a conflict between the heroes and villains, as the god of discord, Chaos, tries to extort the control of forces of good. The game is released in Japan on December 18, 2008, in United States it was released on 25th August and for European nations and Australia releasing dates are 3rd and 4th September. Dissidia: Final Fantasy is the only game in the Final Fantasy series to give you a chance to fight as a villain or a hero in single and two player modes. The game is composed Takeharu Ishimoto.

Base of Dissidia Final Fantasy is the battle between two gods. One is Cosmos — the Goddess of Harmony and the other is Chaos — God of Discord. After creating a realm from pieces of worlds, the two gods selected ten champions to wage war for eons in a an unending cycle of rebirth until the balance of power tipped in the favor of Chaos. Evil forces grew stronger and the war seems to be ending, few survived heroes band together to strike back at Chaos and restore harmony. Story of each of the hero is interlinked to each other which follows their journey to recover their respective Crystal. For example Terra deals with her amnesia and her declining her control over her powers. Clouds story concerns his indecisiveness and questioning his reason for taking part in the battle. The story modes unlock second stage of the plot know as “Shade Impulse”. After defeating the enemies heroes returns Cosmos, but Chaos appears and destroy goddess, later it is revealed her powers are transferred to the crystals. Once warriors defeat Chaos, they end up at Gaia and the warriors returns to their homes, only Warrior of Light remains back. In the world created by Cosmos and Chaos, Cosmos emerges as the ruler.

Both antagonist and the protagonist of the previous Final Fantasy games are united in Dissidia. Stories of the heroes and villains are narrated by Cid of the Lufaine. Not only heroes but other players also deals with crystal-like doppelgangers called Manikins. Storyline of the game is overarching and requires playing through all the characters to complete the game. There are twenty two playable characters in the game, eleven heroes and eleven villains. Each of them represents Final Fantasy through Final Fantasy X. Two secret characters a villain representing Final Fantasy XII and a heroin from Final Fantasy XI. Weapons can be customized and players can gain gil and EXP from battles. Most of the characters can transform into EX Modes. Summons can be Summon Stones.

Experience points, which played an important role in the gameplay of the previous games. Monsters and the races will resemble those used in Final Fantasy XI, allowing players to create avatars similar to the one created in Final Fantasy XI. Group play and solo play are both balanced because Final Fantasy XIV will give little weight to the group play. Character development will be altered by Weapon select. Square Enix is looking for a solution to allow users to transfer their game names to the new MMO. According to the developers of the game they are influenced by the gameplay of the games like Warhammer Online, Age of Conan and Warcraft. However, most of the changes made in the game are done on the base of player’s feedback. Famous vehicles of the Final Fantasy series Chocobo will return to the game but in a completely new role from the Final Fantasy XI.

Initially the game was codenamed as Rapture. The game was announced for the first time in August 2005. At that time it was not mentioned by Square Enix that whether the game will be sequel to the series or not, they just mentioned that they are working on a new MMORPG. In April 2006 Hiromichi Tanaka announced that they are planning to release the game worldwide on the platforms of Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Years later at GDC 2008 Square Enix announced that the new MMO would release only on PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows, thus removing the Xbox 360 version. It as also hinted that Mac and Linux user clients are also in the target. Finally at the E3 2009 conference of Sony, Final Fantasy XIV was finally announced. Actual game sequences and pre-rendered CGI are mixed up in Crystal Tools engine was also shown at E3 2009. One unique feature of the game will be cross platform servers between PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows, accessible from any country. PlayOnline system is removed from the game. Plot details are not revealed by the developers. Because of the name of the title it is believed theta the game will feature angels. Dragon Quest IX will start kingdom of angels where angels resides. The protagonist of the game is believed to be created by the angels. Issue 33 of NGamers Magazine confirms that the protagonist of the game is not an angel. In the game angels want to go to the God’s Land, however they need a rare flower known as Goddess fruit in order to leave their kingdom. The very rare flower they are looking for can be found on World Tree, but only after the tree is empowered with “Star Auras.” Following the legacy of the Dragon Quest series Dragon Quest IX will be a turn-based combat. Single and multiplayer node will be released for the game and other then plying against each other there will be a co-operative mode. Co-operative mode for the game will support upto four players and can be played via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. There will be quest system and the quest will then further feature sub-stories. Quests will include helping non-player character around the world. Quest will result in interlocking and uncloking many stages. Some of the early quests will include stealing with fellow thief, collecting magical spring water and killing monsters.

First hint for the release of the game was given by Koichi Sugiyama in mid of 2006, when he was spotted by Famitu commenting that he is not sure about the release date but Dragon Quest IX is under development. On the eve of 20^th anniversary of Dragon Quest series Square Enix announced Dragon Quest IX exclusively for Nintendo DS. Like this will be the first Dragon Quest game to debut on a handheld console. The game was delayed twice in order to give it a better gameplay. First trailer for the game was released at the Tokyo Game Show 2008. The trailer ends with unveiling release date March 2009. Some time later s new trailer was released by Square Enix correcting the release dates as March 28, 2009. Release date was further delayed by Square Enix, to July 11 for the Japan.

Delaying of the game is worrying news for the Final Fantasy fans, because president of Square Enix Yoichi Wada told the fans that delaying of Dragon Quest IX can cause some problem to the release of Final Fantasy XIII. The game is in news from the day of its announcement. On January 1, 2009 Dragon Quest IX was named as the most anticipated game in Japan. The survey was conducted by Famitsu magazine. The game it removed from the top was yet another Square Enix production, Final Fantasy XIII. It was removed from the top spot nearly after 15 months.

Final Fantasy XIII is an upcoming game of the world’s longest and most game producing franchise Final Fantasy. It is developed by Square Enix and is a console role-playing game. Battle sequences are integrated into world environment, just like Final Fantasy XII. The Active Time Battle (ATB) system is back with modifications. Only a Prototype of the game was shown during E3 2006. Square Enix later revealed in the various Japanese magazines a new battle footage. Mostly it was same as the Prototype shown in E3. The font and the battle system were unchanged. The main character’s command seems dividing into two columns. You can use three commands and release them at the same time. Other than, the traditional commands like Attack, fire, and Cure there are one more command “launch” is added although its effect’s are unknown. MP system is missing but a new system known as “cost points” is introduced. A world map is also missing from the screenshots of the battle interface. A Chain/Break bar had replaced the Overlock gauge from the prototype battle, but the function remains unknown. You are able to view the HP of an enemy before you engages it in battle. When the player engages an enemy, position of the camera changes and the battle menu appears.

Fal’Cie is the focus of the plot; it’s a race existing beyond humanity. I’Cie are the Fal’Cie serving for greater purpose. They were ordered to create a shell like City of Cocoon for the humans. With the help of a crystal, they creates a City named Pulse. After some time people of the cocoon City became worried of their world as the City is hanging in the middle of nothing. People has strange effects of Pulse City. Therefore, the holy government of cocoon City decide to eliminate anyone with the feeling. A former soldier of their mighty army is given the task to bring the downfall of humanity and downfall of cocoon.

The full cast of Final Fantasy is unknown, only a few characters are shown in the game. Lighting seems to be the main character of the game. She is a young woman associated with cocoon military, and given a task by the crystal. Her partner is a young male named Snow Villiers, who wears bandana, rides the summoned spirit Shiva sisters in their motorcycle form, and carries a large gun. Oerba Dia Vanille is the third character of the game. She is s girl with a red brown hair worn in pigtail and lives in Pulse. Its shown in the trailer that she is captured by cocoon.

Square Enix issued a statement reminding consumers that they will be the first one to release the date. At E3 during a Microsoft’s meeting they announced that Final Fantasy XIII FABULA NOVA CRYSTALLIS will be first launch on PlayStation 3 in Japan and then in Europe and America.
