DC Universe Online (DCOU) is and MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) under the development of Sony Online Austin. It will be published by Sony Online Entertainment. Executive Creative Director of the game will be Jim Lee together with JJ Kirby, Oliver Nome, Carlos D’Anda, Livio Ramondelli, Michael Lopez and Eddie Nunez. Developers from EverQuest Shawn Lord and Chris Cao are also involved. First conceptual part of the game was released on July 4, 2008 and the first trailer for the game was released on July 14^th, 2008, followed by new concept art and screenshots for the game were released on the next day. For better feedback developers held a Q&A on the same day to give the fans a chance to ask questions about the gameplay and other aspects of the game. Later it was revealed on the Myspace page of DCOU that the first public demo of the game would be shown in the Comic-Con International. Information about the Comic-Con International has also surfaced with a video showing the making of the game. DC Universe Online is scheduled for release either late 2009 or early 2010, in the genre of MMORPG. Platforms considered are PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows.

DC Universe Online is set in DC Universe and the gameplay of the game is basic Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game. One of the main inspirations of the game is The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. SOE want this game to be different from other MMORPG’s. Main focus of SOE is that without losing the key elements like leveling and inventories of RPG’s Dc Universe should look more interactive. The world shown in the game will be shared, public space instead of Heroes or villains having their own territory. Public space features will be content generated dynamically for both hero and villain player character. This feature will result in interesting Player versus Player or PvP battles. Player will chose a City for their character, like Metropolis, Arkham Asylum and Gotham. Depending on whether you chose to be a hero or villain you will be given a Justice League or Legion of Doom Communicator. Character’s commitment will affect the game that is played, for example a Villain will rob a truck or bank whereas a hero will save some one from being robbed or save the bank. Threat ratings will cause Heroes and villains to interact with each other. A demo was featured on IGN showing various Heroes as well as villains.

Global Agenda is a MMO (massively multiplayer online) game set in the futuristic world. It will be played in the third person shooter format. It is developed by Hi-Rez Studios and it will run on Unreal Engine 3. First announcements for the game were made on March 2007 at that time it was under production for two years. Status for the game is now under Alpha testing. One of the trailers was released for the game on May 1, 2009. A new website for the game was released by Hi-Rez. At a charity event called “MISSION”: Pwning for a Cure”, game was previewed for the first time. The charity was held on 8^th of November, 2008 I Roswell, USA. After long and extensive testing the game is to believed to have a third person shooter mixed with FPS kind of gameplay. Nothing is announced by the company but from the videos and articles it can be assumed that the gameplay of Global Agenda will feature classes and further customization of the classes. There will be four playable classes in the game but all of these class are broadly, customized, modified, and are upgraded. All these customizations are made to carry tactical loadouts to be based on the current situation. First class to show up in the game is Assault. They will be the class with most attacking abilities and have thickest armor. However other than these specialties they will not have any other additional powers.

Second class in the game is Recon, they will not have strong weapons or thick armor but they will have a special stealth ability of Invisibility. Only careful players can overcome this. Recon will be specialized in sniping abilities. Robotics will be the third class and they will use the highest level of technology. No weapons or armors are confirmed for the Robotics; however they will use forcefields, utilize turrets and mechs that are controlled by remotes. Final and the last class will be Medics they will have the unique quality of regenerate others health. They will play as specialist in biochemical toxins and poison. Thus harming enemy and giving their team advantage over others. For them also no weapons or armors are confirmed by the developers.

Appearance customization is more focused, facial customization. Customizations will be supported by a new randomization feature confirmed by the developers. All the new dye colors, Helmets, Suits have to be purchased or earned through the game. Many kind of facial expressions have been confirmed which will modify, like Cheek Bones, Head, Eyes, Ears, and Nose. Other than these you can also change hairstyle of your character. But customization of the hairstyle is said to be limited. For the body only skin tone can be customization. But if the game has to compete the other MMOs they have consider other body changes also like breadth, height and build.

Very less is revealed about the story. What ever is reveled about the game it is concluded that the game will be based in 22nd century. In 22^nd century political face of the earth is changed and the factions created by the players will be fought for power. Full-scale wars are history now and the factions now have to rely on covert agencies. Elite special operatives will seize and defend some key facilities. Hi-Rez had involved many factions but nothing is revealed about them. One thing that is confirmed is only one story will be there. In the start you will work as a fugitive for the government, known as GA. The game is currently under alpha testing stage. A closed beta may be released in Q2 between April to June. MAG or Massive Action Game as the name suggests is a game with enormous action never seen before in gaming. MAG is an upcoming MMO (massively multiplayer online game) exclusively for PlayStation 3. It is under development of SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs fame Zipper Interactive. It was first announced in a press conference at E3 2008. Release date is not sure but developers are promising MAG will be driving fans crazy till Q3 2009. Since the game is exclusive for PlayStation 3 it will be published by Sony Computer Entertainment. Genre for the game will be a MMO played from First Person Shooter perspective. Just like the release date name for the game is also not confirmed many name are under consideration of the developers. This includes MAG: Global Assault, MAG: Shadow War, MAG: Final Hour.

MAG is said to use completely new architecture for the gameplay. Architecture for the game is completely changed from the traditional First Person Shooter game. Reason for such heavy change was to provide support for online battles with up to 256 players. These players will be further divided into 8-player squads, with 4 squad forming a platoon and 4 platoons further forming a company. A single player advanced through the game’s ranking system will led each squad. With frequent gameplay character static’s and development will also increase. Most advanced player in the game will either lead the battle or participate directly in the combat. Recent development in co-op mode in the FPS games like Call of Duty: World at War are moral for the games like MAG.

To encourage the player to actively play basic battles will take place in ongoing faction based campaigns. There are three factions featuring in the game S.V.E.R. (pronounced Server) it’s a group from war hit countries like Afghanistan and Iraq. Second group is Raven, they use advanced weapons and wear black armor and high tech weaponry. They portray like futuristic warriors. Third and the final group is Valor, they look more like military then faction. In the E3 trailer it featured large landscapes, military tactics like air strike, parachuting, and using variety of military vehicles like APCs to airplanes to tanks. The game is designed in such way that it will boast complete ground up class creating with weapon attachments and additional assessments like explosives. One more thing not widely seen in First Person Shooters is customization of the character. Customization will include voice, face and armor.

Michael Guttman VP of Zipper Interactive has confirmed that there will be a public beta for MAG. According to Michael Guttman “MAG will certainly have a beta version. More information about the Beta version will soon be announced. First game of the Descent series was first launched in the year 1995. Very soon, it gain success and build a strong community. The reason for the success was use of the unique six degrees of freedom (6DOF) gameplay. In an interview conducted on September 11, 2000, it was revealed by PlanetDescent that the development for the Descent 4 is cancelled. Later some speculations as made that Red Faction, a new project ad Volition was Descent 4. Such speculations were made because main character of the Red Faction was Parker and some of the plot points were similar to Descent 4. All the speculations were cancelled by Mike Kulas president of Volition Inc. Although he admitted that, some technologies in Red Faction are used from Descent 4. PlanetDescent also asked about any possibilities of Volition developing Descent 4, Mr. Kulas stated that there are very rare chances of working on Descent sequel. This was due to the fact that in 2000, Volition left Interplay Entertainment for THQ.

On March 13, 2008, Interplay updated their website, inserting a background image and some of the games were highlighted in the company’s roster. The trademark blue shield was included in the background image, confirming further that Descent is the project on the focus radar of the company. Again on September 22, 2008, when company re-opened their website, the discussion board was including official Descent forum. And till October 21, 2008, Interplay re-registered the Descent trademark with USPTO.

InFamous is an upcoming sandbox-style video game. It is under development of Sucker Punch Productions, famous for their games like Sly Cooper and Rocket Robot on Wheels video game franchise. InFamous will be the companies first Intellectual Property since Sly Cooper. First announcements of the game were made at Sony’s E3 2007 Press Conference on July 11, 2007. InFamous is expected to be released in June 2009. The game would be interested to play as it is combination of third person sandbox world with elements of superhero MMO City of Heroes, with a roaming open-world. The game allows players to choose to play as hero or antihero and that affects the game.

The game starts in a fictional city called Empire City, Cole McGrath is the main character of the game is bike messenger. A package delivered by Cole rips six blocks of the city leaving a crater and Cole as the lone survivor. The explosion has granted Cole some electricity-based powers. Cole wakes up two week later to find that Empire City has fallen into chaos. Without police gangs have taken over the area of city and a plague has infected many of the residents causing the city to be quarantined by the government. A DJ who calls himself as “The Voice of Survival” broadcast that Cole is responsible for the chaos and thus setting the population of Empire City against him. Now Cole has to control his powers and help those in need or simply survive on his own facing off against larger threats that have manifested in the city due to the explosion and its aftermath.

According to the development team they wanted Cole to be a “kind of everyman.” They want it look like a real human being who has been granted these exceptional abilities. Cole is the main playable character of the game he is joined by two if his friends Zeke a follow bike messenger, conspiracy theorist and survivalist who becomes jealous of Cole’s powers. Second is Trish, Cole’s ex-girlfriend and medical student who resent him due to her sister being killed in the blast but still helps in treating the injured. Stated by Sucker Punch a “Lois Lane with syringes.”

InFamous is a sandbox video game. The player has to control Cole and his newly acquired electric powers as he makes his way around the Empire City. Ultimately player has to defeat three main powers of three major parts of the city. Primary mean of interaction of Cole is through electricity-based powers. These include shooting electricity from his hands to nearby targets, create a delayed explosion of a ball of energy much like sticky grenades creating an electricity-based shield to repel foes. The electricity powers can be used against living objects as well as non living. For example he can directly take out the guards or use his powers on generators to cause them to explode. These powers are the greatest advantage to Cole, however they also have limitations like he can’t use guns because electricity can cause an explosion. One more limitation is that Cole can only use electricity he can’t generate it, that means he can’t do anything in areas of blackout.

In an interview with IGN developers stated every buildings detail and that have been modeled to allow player to climb. For giving the scenes any or every light setting, in the moving, changing or flickering colors. It was also said that the inspiration of the game is taken from DMZ comic series, No Man’s Land and Batman Begins.
