Good news for the gamers who love platform games, the famous Jak and Daxter series is back with their new game. The new game will be named as Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier. It will be the first game of the series since the release of Daxter in the year 2006 on the platform of PlayStation 2. Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier is under the joint development of Naughty Dog and High Impact Games. These two names are responsible for the development of previous games of the series as well as some other awesome games like Crash bandicoot series, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Secret Agent Clank and many more. The game was confirmed by High Impact Games on April 1, 2009. A trailer for the game was released at E3 2009. Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier will release on the platforms of PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable, and that’s why it will be published by Sony Computer Entertainment. Although not confirmed by the developers the game may release on November 18, 2009.

The game’s development was delayed by the developers, specially by Naughty Dog as they were busy in the development of their much-awaited game Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. For the fist time on April 1, 2009 High Impact Games announced that The Lost Frontier would release simultaneously for PSP and PlayStation 2 during Fall of 2009. Naughty Dog on the other hand is focusing on their upcoming game Uncharted 2. according to the posted information about the game The Lost Frontier will start right after the events of Jak 3. The trailer was shown on the new PSP Go. The trailer shows all the main characters of the game i.e. Jak, Daxter and Keira flying in air ships and fighting other such ships.

At a minimum cost of one super meter each level character can perform their supper moves or super combos. Except the screen which is now wider, all the other controls are same as the previous games. Major difference in the controls of the game is that instead of three kick/punch attack strength, there are only two and the last two buttons are replaced by assist buttons. A weak attack can result in two different attacks. Second one being a medium attack. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 will feature the ability to Force an opponent’s teammate into the fight with a move which is commonly known as “snapback.” To perform a snapback one requires a full super meter. Snapback will start and the player will flash for a moment and so normal attack which attack will knock out the opponent. Guitar Hero 5 is the fifth installment in the most famous music video game genre. Just like all the previous games of the Guitar Hero series, Activision will publish it along with RedOctane. Guitar Hero will be developed by three different developers for different consoles. Guitar Hero will feature a gameplay, very much similar to Guitar Hero World Tour. One of the major differences in the gameplay will be the four player’s combination for different instruments, including multiples of the same type. Star Power is omitted, instead it will be tracked for each player just like Rock Band. “Band Moment” a new mechanic will ask all the band members to play sections of a song successfully to gain rewards, both in the visual and the scoring effects on the screen. If a player fails out of the song, The Band Revival meter will appear. Now in order to bring back the failed player back in the game other band members have to play individually as well as in a group together. In the Career mode of the game the player can play any of the World Tour DLC. Bonus Challenges will reward the player with unlockable content when they are finished. One such bonus challenge is scoring a number of points while in Star Power.

“Party Play” and “RockFest” are the new features announced for the game. “RockFest” will allow four players locally and eight online to play several sub-modes that influenced how to play the game. For example in one of the RockFest sub-mode “Elimination” will drop the nastiest player periodically. The BIGS 2 is the upcoming sequel to the 2007 game The BIGS and arcade style baseball game. The BIGS 2 will be released under the genre of baseball sports video game. Just like the previous game The BIGS 2 will feature an over-the-top playing style. But the game will be different from the previous one in some fields. As The BIGS 2 will allow the player to act both as general manager and as the players on the field. Players now can draft, manage and trade some front office activities. New game modes are included in the game like Glove, Power and Contact. When batting a new system gives player a new hitting system that consists of a “wheelhouse”. Those pitches which are thrown into wheel house can be hit more efficiently by the batter or it gain more turbo for the strike. Wheelhouse strikes will also have shrunken radius. Radius will depend on the stats and it may be big for some players. The BIGS will also include some real-time sequences, a player can quickly tap a button to catch a ball speeding quickly past fielders head. Each button will stand for a different base, just like the previous game. Ball will be thrown to the base whose button will be pressed.

The BIGS will include a new mechanic called as “Big Slam”. Four consecutive batters can be brought up using Big Slam. If the first batter misses the pitch, but if contact is made, a single will automatically register. This whole process will continue until the 4^th batter is reached and if all the three batters reach, the base by making contact the 4^th batter will hit a grand slam automatically. If the player wants to be in the Become a Legend, he has to create a character who enters the league, eventually is drafted, and finally tries to reach the “Legendary Status”.

Best selling title for PlayStation 3, MotorStrom is back with their new installment Arctic Edge. MotorStrom: Arctic Edge is an upcoming game developed by Bigbig Studios, not by Evolution Games which previously developed MotorStrom series games. Just like the previous games of the series it will only be released for PlayStation consoles. However, this time it will be released for PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable and not for much famous PlayStation 3. Arctic Edge will be published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. Not sure for the release dates Sony stated that MotorStrom: Arctic Edge will be released in the fourth quarter of 2009. The game will be released in single player, online on PSP Ad-hoc, infrastructure and multiplayer modes.

Although the game will be released for both PlayStation 2 and PSP, the two versions will differ from each other sin some fields. PS2 version will not feature certain modern day important features like: Photo Mode, online play, and custom soundtracks. There will be 8-player multiplayer race and in the PSP version will only come up with multiplayer split screen option. Time attacks for both the consoles are confirmed by the developers. There will be difference for the recording of the time attacks. For the PSP versions time attacks are recorded from the leaderboard. Total 12 tracks have been finalized so far, which can be raced such as Log, Widow Maker, Vertigo, Cod Rush, and Jam.

The cooldown technique used in MotorStrom: Pacific Rift while driving through water is included in the Arctic Edge. Vehicles will cool down the boost in the deep snow. A new and exciting feature included in the game is Avalanche; it can be activated by explosions of the vehicles or by the horn of the vehicles. Once activated Avalanche will sweep away the opponent or cause roadblock which is impossible for the small vehicles to pass by, only snowmobiles will pass by the roadblocks in the small vehicles. Other noticeable feature of MotorStrom: Arctic Edge is Icy Bridges seen in the trailers. These bridges are dangerous for heavy vehicles as well for the vehicles passing below. Small vehicles will easily pass these bridges and heavy vehicles will easily break down them. Once crashed from the bridge the player will tumble down the track and possibilities of busted out by colliding another vehicle are high. Other then being busted out players can also land upside down or the best they can land intact and get back in the race. Just like the other games of the series vehicles will be available in wide range. From trucks to bikes, from cars to snowmobiles. One vehicle not featuring this time is Monster truck.
