The BIGS 2 is the upcoming sequel to the 2007 game The BIGS and arcade style baseball game. The BIGS 2 will be released under the genre of baseball sports video game. The game is developed by Blue Castle Games for the consoles of PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Wii, Xbox 360 and PSP. Game’s publishers are 2K Sports. First trailer for the game was released on March 3, 2009. Players like Reggie Jackson, Wade Boggs, Ozzie Smith and Roberto Clemente were shown in the trailer. They were accompanied by some other Hall of Famers. All the above players and the Hall of Famers will be playable in the game. Cover athlete for the game will be Prince Fielder of Milwaukee Brewers, announcements were made on April 7, 2009. He was chose by 2K Sports. The game is scheduled to be released on July 7, 2009.

Just like the previous game The BIGS 2 will feature an over-the-top playing style. But the game will be different from the previous one in some fields. As The BIGS 2 will allow the player to act both as general manager and as the players on the field. Players now can draft, manage and trade some front office activities. New game modes are included in the game like Glove, Power and Contact. When batting a new system gives player a new hitting system that consists of a “wheelhouse”. Those pitches which are thrown into wheel house can be hit more efficiently by the batter or it gain more turbo for the strike. Wheelhouse strikes will also have shrunken radius. Radius will depend on the stats and it may be big for some players. The BIGS will also include some real-time sequences, a player can quickly tap a button to catch a ball speeding quickly past fielders head. Each button will stand for a different base, just like the previous game. Ball will be thrown to the base whose button will be pressed.

The BIGS will include a new mechanic called as “Big Slam”. Four consecutive batters can be brought up using Big Slam. If the first batter misses the pitch, but if contact is made, a single will automatically register. This whole process will continue until the 4^th batter is reached and if all the three batters reach, the base by making contact the 4^th batter will hit a grand slam automatically. If the player wants to be in the Become a Legend, he has to create a character who enters the league, eventually is drafted, and finally tries to reach the “Legendary Status”.
