Guild War I draw the online players crazy few years ago, now ArenaNet are back with Guild War II. This game is under development by Bellevue. Its release was announced in late March 2007. It was reported that it would continue the legacy of Guild War series of no subscription fees. However, no releasing dates have been announced. Players of the contemporary Guild War campaign and the expansions will be allowed to access the achievements through Hall of Monuments location in Eye of North expansion, which also is present in Guild of War 2. Player character names will be reserved from the original series; however, the characters cannot transfer on their own from the original series.

The game was in alpha production in the year 2008 and very few details were revealed in press release. The change that is most awaited and is visible is that now avatars can move in three dimensions and be able to interact with the environment as by setting objects on fire or breaking objects with weapons. There will be four races in Guild War II in addition to humans of Guild War I the new races included are Norm, tall humanoids who excel in armed combat, the Asura, short bipedal creatures with high intelligence and advanced mastery of magic, the charr, sentinel bipedal cat like creatures. It was stated that Guild War II would have much more maximum players than 20, which was the maximum of the players in the original series. Guild War II will give players a strong sidekicking; it means characters will be given a chance to switch their powers to lower-level friendly characters in the same party.

The game world featuring in Guild War II will be much larger than the previous games of the series. The quest will be decided by the actions of the players and that of their fellow players. An NPC companion option is there; it will help you to keep game solo friendly, but if you choose not to use you will be awarded. Player versus player option is seems to be changed considerably. From the previous game Guild versus Guild match is available but the focus will be on large-scale world Vs world matches in the in game setting called mists. An option is there to join this worldwide battle in variety of roles and rewards will be given in accordance to the performance. Difference between the characters is omitted and competitive skills and equipments will be available freely in the PvP areas and all characters will have the same power level.

The Guild of War is set to take place 250 years after the eve3nts of the previous game. Geography of the continent is completely changed. Reason for the changes is by an ancient race of dragons coming back after millennia of slumber. After you defeat The Great destroyer, which was also featured in the previous game, you will see a statue coming to life. This dragon arises and takes over the underground network of Ausras, driving them to surface. As asuras are on the surface, the battle begins. After that many other dragons rises from beneath the earth. Many rising between human kingdoms and ruining them.
